The Erie County Sheriff's Office declared a snow emergency at 9:30 a.m., limiting all travel to emergency vehicles only.

Snow fall overnight and continuing today left conditions dangerous and high winds made travel treacherous. Numerous vehicles were in ditches across major highways and smaller streets.

"The Bogart Road area was the worst," said Highway Patrol Trooper Sgt. Matt Majoy. "There were five off the road and the county had to bring in a frontloader to get them pulled out."

East-west roads were especially impacted with high winds pushing vehicles off the roads. Majoy said no serious injuries had been reported. Wind gust were reaching 41 mph.
