Aww SHUCKS.....I love that death trap !  Heehee

PM

Everytime I have waited in line to ride this thing, they have to call maintenance or whomever due to some sort of malfunction. I gave up on riding it long long ago. I think the ride is just seen it's better days. Also too many injuries from others riding it. Yep, take it down.

MrSandusky

Well of course Cedar Fair is going to spin the announcement with that last line.  Do you think they are going to say something like "We are officaily switching from suck to blow"?

bongodog

They will probably take out the Blue Streak next and put in a walk through fairy land that you have to pay $10 to go through.

here in ohio

the wildcat was a fun coaster but it did have a lot of problems, we got stuck on it a few times, but never kept us from still riding it,  LOL

Cowboy

If they were smart they would advertise that they will take it down in June, therefore popping the May attendance with people who want to ride WildCat before it is taken down.

I think the blue streak will be here for many more years to come, They do take good care of that ride. It is sort of a trademark to Cedar Point being that it was one of the first coasters. Still fun to ride. A great coaster to ride if you can't handle the thrill of riding the newer coasters, the Blue Streak is mild compared to the other coasters.

I wish they would have kept the IMAX theater though, It gave a nice air conditioned break along with a breath taking short movie.

Blacktigress

ACtually, the Blue Streak was not the first roller coaster at CP. There was the Jupiter and I believe the Saturn. One of them went out into the lake, not sure which one. Be nice if the Register had some pictures of them

I had my first date at Cedar Point. The Wild Cat was our first ride and we held hands---out of fear for our lives.

Can we relocate the ride to downtown Sandusky on the site of the Paper District Amphitheater

Wow...All this time I thought the Blue Streak was CP first roller coaster...Yet, ANOTHER lie I told my son.

This is truly disappointing - taking down thrill rides to expand a stupid quasi-rave.

WaterStreetCooncat

Take down the Mine Ride instead. Bring back the Pirate Ride while you're at it, (Inspiration Point of Cedar Point!) Oh yeah, Cedar Fair has no place for things like that, just look at Father's Day over there.

@Blacktigress, he said that the Blue Streak was ONE of their first coasters, not THE first coaster.  You may wish to read the entire statement, from start to end, before you start correcting people again.

Again Gar?  We all know by now that you had your first date on the Wildcat!!!  Enough already!!

I remember the first time I ever rode that thing.  I didn't scream or yell.  I got off, walked down the ramp and just stood there for a few mintues.  I looked at the three other girls I was with and then started screaming like someone had just stabbed me to death.  I didn't know what happened. I just stood there and screamed.  I got right back on and did it again.  What a great time that was.

I agree.....move it to downtown Sandusky someplace.  That would be fun.  Like where the Keller building USE to be. It won't be there much longer anyway.
