Margaretta Township has made good on its levy promise.
Earlier in the month thedepartment bought a newambulance with the help of adonation from the MargarettaFirefighter’s Association.
“Last year we put a levy on the ballot. It was a slight increase. We said we would buy an ambulance, and we’re doing what we promised. It’s all coming together because we needed a new squad, and we’re able to purchase it,” said township trustee Tim Riesterer.
The donation to the association came from Clyde and Evalyn Rutherford, lifelong residents who named the association as abeneficiary.
“Our check allowed us to purchase a heavier duty squad, which in turn will make the squad last longer, which will save the township money in the long run,” said Dan Strayer, association treasurer.Read the story now in our complete online newspaper or in Saturday's Register.
