The matter is now in Huron County's hands.
Unless officials from Bellevue and Lyme Township come to an agreement soon -- they have 30 days or less to do so -- it will be the county commissioners' call whether to allow Bellevue to annex 401 acres of the township.
As things stand, it does not look promising an agreement will be reached before the March 10 deadline. Lyme Township trustee chairman Roger Hunker said no future meetings are planned between the two entities, and he did not sound optimistic that a compromise was likely.
