HURON

The uniform craze is sweeping Erie County.  Since Sandusky Schools instituted a uniform policy last fall, parental interest in uniforms has spiked in neighboring Huron, said Fred Fox, superintendent of Huron City Schools.

"People at football games and other school events keep asking if we've considered switching to uniforms," Fox said. "This seems to be what the parents want."

The issue has not officially been discussed in Huron Board of Education meetings, said Donna Green, the board's vice president. State law would make it difficult to institute a policy for the 2008-2009 school year.
