I was browsing through advertisements in the paper when this ad caught my attention: 12 more shopping days till the holiday.

What is happening here? We cannot mention the word Christmas?

Excuse me and please set me straight if I am wrong, but isn't the 25th of December Christmas Day, the birth of Christ?

That is the date we Christians have been celebrating for generations. Who are we going to offend if we say Merry Christmas?

The Jewish community celebrated Hannukah.

Some African Americans celebrate Kwanzaa.

Ramadan is a Muslim's celebration and we respect their beliefs.

They don't hide it. (Happy Hanukkah front page of the Register a couple weeks ago.)

Jesus' birth changed history, changed the world, and while we are at it, changed the calendar. We are the majority, and Christmas is our biggest celebration.

Advertise it like it is: 10 more days till Christmas.
