BASS ISLANDS

Fewer than 100 registered voters on North and Middle Bass islands will have to catch a boat to get to the nearest polling station next year.

The Ottawa County Board of Elections has closed the two polling stations that served the North and Middle Bass island precincts. Those residents will have to either vote by absentee ballot or travel to South Bass Island by plane or boat to cast votes.
