Local Audubon group counts crows and other feathered friends for national study

They won't see a partridge in a pear tree.  Seven swans a-swimming is more likely.

Several people grabbed binoculars and searched the trees Saturday throughout the Sandusky area as part of the 108th National Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count.

Marry Warren, president of the Firelands Audubon Society, led a group of people at Sheldon's Marsh in Huron. The Firelands group has been participating in the count since 1970.
