SANDUSKY

The local Salvation Army is in need of bell ringers and donations.

The organization had hoped to collect $60,000 to help the needy, a goal that's in line with collections in past years, but is lagging. Salvation Army officials doubt the amount collected so far is much above $22,000.

"It's still looking pretty bleak," said Capt. Mark Larrick.
