SANDUSKY

A winter storm warning is in effect from noon today until 4 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

Snow may mix with sleet and freezing rain tonight, according to the weather advisory, changing back to snow all Sunday morning before tapering off Sunday afternoon with high winds producing drifts.

Ice accumulations should be less than a quarter of an inch, and 6-12 inches of snow is expected where there is no sleet or freezing rain.

After talks with the sheriff's office, Erie County Emergency Management Director Bill Walker said it is possible a snow emergency could be declared, limiting road travel.

"If there's no really good need to be out, it's probably safer to stay inside," he said.
