City leaders read a proclamation this week making March 12 the official Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day in Sandusky.
The day recognizes people who have developmental disabilities and attempts to raise awareness and understanding in the community. Several members of the Erie County Board of Developmental Disabilities were present to hear the reading of the proclamation.
