Occupants of a car hit in an accident Sunday night were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The accident happened at about 10:09 p.m. Sunday night near the corner of West Monroe and Pearl streets.

Jordan K. Chavarria, 18, 2000 block of First St., was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign. Chavarria was not treated by EMS.

The driver of the other car, Demerle A. Gessinger, 60, 600 block of LaSalle St., sustained non-incapacitation injuries and was taken by ambulance to Firelands Regional Medical Center. Passenger Norris Gessinger, 60, same address, was also admitted to the hospital.

Chavarria was traveling south on Pearl Street when he missed a stop sign at the intersection of West Monroe Street, the accident report said. His car hit Gessinger's car and then struck a tree across the street, the report said.
