BELLEVUE

Staff Sgt. Jon Martin, 33, of Bellevue died on Thanksgiving Day at a hospital in Germany as a result of injuries he suffered Nov. 9 from a roadside bomb in Iraq.

A 1993 graduate of Bellevue High School and father of three, Martin served four years in the Marine Corps and joined the Army a year later. He returned to Iraq for his third tour despite being wounded during his second tour, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
