VERMILION

At about 8 p.m. Sunday, Vermilion police Officer Scott Holmes was on duty in his police cruiser driving west on Liberty Avenue when he was struck by a mini-van.

Holmes' cruiser was T-boned on the driver's side. Holmes' sternum was broken and he was transported by an emergency medical helicopter to a Cleveland-area hospital.
