A letter writer (Reader forum, Oct. 11) criticized the announcer at the Sandusky Speedway for supporting our troops and the job they are doing in Iraq. The writer had the audacity to say that our troops in Iraq and those that have died there have died in vain and for no reason.

Have you actually spoken with our troops that are serving there? In fact, I would venture to guess you have formed your opinion on the basis of what the liberal media is spoon feeding to you.

Before you criticize our troops and the war in Iraq, I suggest you SPEAK with a service member that has actually been there. My brother is serving our country in Iraq as a member of the 3rd Infantry Division. He was just home and spoke to me about the things he has seen.

He DOES see a need for us to be there. He sees progress everyday. He told me in no uncertain terms that we are winning the war in Iraq.

Our troops in Iraq have sacrificed time away from their families, a country they love and their very lives to help provide the people of Iraq with a stable, terror free way of life.

Before you speak your piece about the War in Iraq, I suggest you talk with someone that actually knows what is happening over there. Clearly you do not.
