Vote for new life in P.C.

Two years ago we bought a house in Port Clinton. Ever since, we have watched our new hometown in a desperate state of decline.

Then the discussions began about what Port Clinton could do to bring businesses back. Plans were being developed for Water Works Park. I couldn't believe that there was a group of people here that actually wanted nothing to be built there.

A "yes" vote would mean that the city would have a good chance to revitalize itself.

A "no" vote will mean that we will continue to decline. If we do not do something to bring a vital business to our city, you will find another "For Sale" sign going up -- mine! There will be hundreds more if we continue on our present path. I feel we are doomed if we do not develop that property in the most productive way possible. Not as housing for a 100 or so rich people who only frequent us in the summer but a hotel/convention center that will bring thousands of people to our businesses here year round. It will add 300 or more permanent jobs. Our schools, streets and sewers will be fixed. Please vote yes. Don't let our town become just a bigger parking lot for the ferry boats!
