SANDUSKY

On the second floor of the Firelands Symphony and School of the Arts on Washington Street is a room as big as a child's imagination.

It is home to Creative Kids, an art program for children, preschool age through grade school.

The program was started nearly a year ago by Sandusky resident Judy Aldrich.

Aldrich, 34, owns a graphic design company and is the art teacher at Creative Kids.

"I think (the kids) feel comfortable here," Aldrich said. "They feel like they can express themselves."

Aldrich, a musician as well as a visual artist, said the artistic mission of Creative Kids blends well with the Firelands Symphony.

"It's just a really perfect fit," Aldrich said. "It's a good, safe environment for the children to learn and express themselves."
