Veterans Day at the fair -- wonderful. A time to honor those still with us and those fallen heroes.
It seems though, that honoring, in any way we can, our young men and women lost in Iraq and Afghanistan was not a priority.
Janet Lippus was told that the awesome, lovingly made, a very popular, Gold Star handiwork could not be displayed. There was no room.
Pardon me? No room -- for giving one's life, the ultimate sacrifice?
I know the Legion offered to give up their space and am sure some of the other veteran's organizations would have also done the same.
The public and all the veterans there were cheated by not being able to look at the display and thanking each one of those men and women.
Shame on that decision by officials at the fair.
