The top six chosen by the search committee are: Evalin McClain of Overland Park, Kan., Sy Murray of Cleveland, Richard Janus of Beaver Falls, Pa., Spencer Isom of Snowflake, Ariz., Stephen Gunty of Ellsworth, Maine, and Doug Elliott of Hudson, Ohio.

The search committee includes Commissioners Dave Waddington and Dennis Murray along with Sandusky residents Allen Nickles, Sandra Brown, Bryan Kasper, Vicki Kaszonyi and Vincent Rhoades.

After meeting Thursday to discuss all the candidates and the attributes needed for the job, the committee met again Monday night.

"We each picked our top six and combined all the numbers," Waddington said.

The committee plans to begin interviews in September to narrow the group down to at least five candidates who will then be interviewed by the Sandusky City Commission.
