Franklin Flats is still surrounded by water on the Huron River, but elsewhere in Erie County flood waters are receding.
Pipe Creek had minor flooding but nothing that left Lakeland or Searsville residents in the situation they experienced last June, said Bill Walker, director of the Erie County Emergency Management Agency.
"We haven't had any calls about homes being flooded, some with water in the basement," he said.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a flood warning remains in effect for the Huron River near Milan until this evening. As of 4 a.m., the river was at 21.1 feet. Flood stage is 18 feet. The river is forecast to drop below flood stage by this afternoon.
