A former Kelleys Island police officer was awarded more than $250,000 in a lawsuit against the village of Kelleys Island, according to a Cleveland news station.
Thomas Saccenti, 24, filed the lawsuit in November 2004 after he was fired earlier in the same month by the Kelleys Island village council. Saccenti sought a minimum of $750,000 in damages, with $500,000 specified against Kelleys Island Mayor Robert Quinn individually. He also sought full reinstatement as the village's only full-time police officer.
