Churches should always be allowed to hold forums for people to talk about the issues. Even in the tax code as long as a church does not endorse a candidate it can have one speak and be tax exempt.

Separation of church and state is from a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptists where he assured them that the government would not tell them what and who or where they can worship.

Jefferson was in France when the constitution was written. So the intent of the law cannot go by his letter that we totally misread anyway. Jefferson, after he wrote that letter, went to a new church for the rest of his term and more -- in the Capitol building.

Jefferson ordered thousands of Bibles to be printed and given to the American Indians at the expense of the government to spread Christianity.

We took God out of school and we tell them the there is no absolute and no truth, so children act like animals but if our government keeps its Christian base then there will always be true tolerance (allowing without accepting). George Washington himself said if we take away morals from our land then we will not last. He set up public schools so our children could read the Bible for themselves and not be told what is in it.
