When a Sandusky police officer struggled to get a loose dog into a cruiser Tuesday, backup was called to get the 150-pound Saint Bernard under control.
A caller told police of the black and brown dog running loose in the 1200 block of Carr St. An officer was able to snare the pooch but struggled to get the animal into the police cruiser.
"It began struggling and fighting and rolling over," the report said. The dog also pinned itself along the outside of the rear passenger side of the vehicle. Backup was called and the three officers were able to get the dog inside the car.
The animal was taken to the pound. But before it exited the vehicle it left another reminder of the incident -- by defecating on the backseat.
