Congress will soon vote on proposed legislation to increase the federal excise tax on tobacco products. If approved, the measure could spell the end of the premium cigar industry in the United States, according to industry insiders.
The U.S. Senate and House could vote as early as Wednesday to increase the federal excise tax on tobacco products to supply funding for the State Children Health Insurance Program.
