SPD's Burns, facing charges from Put-in-Bay, also accused in Sandusky Co. confrontation
A second investigation of allegations of off-duty misconduct by a Sandusky police officer is underway, according to Sandusky police Chief Kim Nuesse.
Nuesse said police learned of an incident involving Burns in Sandusky County after reading about it in the Register on July 18.
"We knew nothing about that," Nuesse said. "It may impact the first investigation because both are regarding off-duty conduct."
Burns, 45, was arrested and charged with persistent disorderly conduct and trespassing while visiting a Put-in-Bay bar June 30.
That case is pending in Port Clinton Municipal court.
