PERKINS TWP.

A half dozen members of various 4-H equestrian clubs are protesting the local extension office and state 4-H leaderships decision to allow several riders who did not qualify for state competition to compete anyway.

Another issue is the qualification of the judge who evaluated the competition during the state fair qualifying show.

The protesters are on Columbus Avenue sidewalks near the Erie County Services Center.

They are not protesting the fair, they say, but rather the inequality of allowing some who do not meet standards to participate and others who failed to meet those standards not compete as well.
