Groton Township firefighters are investigating a house fire that left a Bellevue family with about one-third of its home ravaged.

Firefighters responded to the 11800 block of Strecker Road about 11:52 p.m. Thursday where a single-story home was on fire, according to Chief Kerry Jett.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the blaze is under investigation, Jett said. Damages are estimated at $100,000.

Residents were not home at the time of the fire, and no firefighters were injured. Two vehicles parked near the residence were damaged, Jett said.

Margaretta, Perkins and Milan fire departments provided mutual aid. The blaze was under control within an hour, Jett said.
