Classmates, family and friends continue to mourn the loss of Christopher L. Campbell, who was killed by a train Monday night.

Campbell, 17, was with three other juvenile friends downtown at 11:14 p.m. when they attempted to cross railroad tracks between Perry and Washington streets to go to a house on the south side of the tracks.

He was struck by a westbound train and died at the scene, according to Vermilion police Lt. Rich Labis. The other juveniles were not injured.
