PORT CLINTON

Port Clinton is one step closer to getting its marina district project to move forward.

Port Clinton Council approved a zoning change 5-1 Tuesday to rezone Water Works Park from a government district to a central business district, which will allow construction of a waterpark, hotel and convention center. The zoning change was necessary to allow the marina project to continue.

Councilwoman Debbie Hymore-Tester said Port Clinton is hurting, and development may be the only way to help the city improve.
