A special counsel assigned to review records regarding the death of 17-year-old Mufaro Young said it was not necessary to consult the boy's family on the matter.
The boy's father, William Young Jr., told the Register Monday he did not think the case was handled fairly as Lang did not consult him or his family.
Lang, who is a Cleveland attorney, said he reviewed a variety of records from the incident and found that evidence to be sufficient. The records included fire and police reports, backgrounds of fire department employees, the care and treatment of Mufaro Young, and procedures regarding treatment and emergency calls.
