SANDUSKY

A case status hearing is set for July 2 in a civil lawsuit between a former township police officer and Chief Tim McClung and Perkins trustees.

In the case, filed in February, John McGuire alleges McClung knowingly published false defamatory statements in Seneca County in February 2006 with the intent to harm him.

There are also two unidentified persons who might be liable, identified as John Doe one and two. Those two people will be identified after discovery is presented, according to McGuire's attorney Dean Henry. McGuire is asking for $25,000 in damages.
