PERKINS TWP.

The Committee for a Better Perkins had a voice at the trustees' regular meeting Tuesday.

But the group will go underground, falling silent in Register online forums and stories, spokesman Jim Caldwell said.

After being denied the opportunity to speak at a work session last week because it's against customary procedure, the committee was on the agenda and given floor time to tell trustees its mission.

But first Caldwell, who was fired by the township for a police department dress code violation about 18 months ago, said he will no longer post story comments on the Register Web site.
