Not in my neighborhood.
That's what almost a dozen neighbors of Jeremiah House had to say Tuesday about the possibility of felons moving in next door. Jeremiah House is a proposed rehabilitation and transition home for men convicted of alcohol and drug crimes.
Neighbors raised concerns about the safety of their children and the security of their homes to Perkins Township trustees in a boisterous discussion that required frequent calls to order.
The deal isn't done yet. While the home is in accordance with Ohio law and zoning code, it may not meet township zoning codes. It will be up to legal counsel to determine which zoning code is applicable in this instance.
