It huffed and puffed, but didn't keep Bike Week festivities down.
A brief but powerful rain rolled through Northern Ohio on Friday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the line of storms produced 60-70 mph winds from Toledo to Bowling Green. Sandusky received less than a half inch of rain while places in Port Clinton and Bowling Green received closer to two inches.
The soggy streets of downtown Sandusky were eerily quiet at about 3:45 on Friday afternoon as the storm blew through. Vendors battened down the hatches and visitors ran for cover to wait out the storm that tore signs and tent flaps free of their moorings and overturned road blocks.
Just west of Sandusky, along Ohio 2 near Bay View, traffic slowed to a crawl because of wind gusts that knocked down some trees and utility lines.
