Will the real vice mayor please get out of his car?
Tuesday, Perkins police encountered a man alleging he was city official Dannie Edmon.
An officer observed a SUV traveling westbound on Ohio 2 near Ohio 4 with no license plate at 7:16 p.m.
The driver was pulled over and appeared to be nervous with "his hands shaking" and "pulse beating through his shirt," according to the police report.
When asked for his name, the man said he was Dannie Edmon, vice mayor of Sandusky, and recited the proper date of birth and Social Security number. When the officer asked for the man's driver's license, for picture identification, he advised he was lying about his identity.
The man confessed to being Edmon's older brother, Monroe H. Edmon, 40, 1400 block of Hayes Ave.
Monroe Edmon was transported to the station where he made contact with Dannie K. Edmon, 38, 300 block of E. Madison St. to pick him up. The younger Edmon did not wish to pursue any criminal charges against his brother.
Monroe Edmon was issued a citation by police for driving under suspension and charged with obstructing official business.
