Family support for Arlene Strohl is evident. Dressed in "Save Our Teachers" T-shirts, Strohl's daughters and a couple of their friends, made a silent statement at Monday night's Sandusky Board of Education meeting.
"My mom is one of the teachers supposedly getting cut," said Lanna Strohl, 18.
Arlene Strohl, a Sandusky High School graduate, holds one of the music positions recommended for reduction.
"It's pretty devastating," she said. "I had hopes of staying in the district for many years."
District administrators recommend that 13.5 teaching positions be eliminated to save money after its levy failed in May. The proposed cuts include three music teachers, two kindergarten teachers, science, English and social studies teachers.
