Wouldn't it be great to push a button and capture the lives of those famous Americans we admire?

Monroeville Elementary's third grade classes brought those we admire briefly back to life at their Famous Americans Wax Museum on Friday.

After hearing about the idea at a teacher's workshop, writing teacher Teri Smith along with teachers aid Maribeth Simon, special education teacher Julie Davlin and third-grade homeroom teachers Diane Steiber and Jennifer Lonz organized a show, tell and dress up in celebration of famous people remembered and forgotten.

Names of famous Americans were thrown into a bag, with each of the 53 students assigned a name. The children researched, wrote, dressed-up like and spoke about their character.
