PERKINS TWP.

Three people were injured late Thursday morning in an accident at Columbus Avenue and Strub Road — one of the most dangerous intersections in the area, according to Perkins police Chief Tim McClung.

Grace Smith, 83, of Norwalk was driving a Buick Rendevous east on Strub Road and was turning left when she ran a red light and struck a Mercury traveling north on Columbus Avenue, police said. That vehicle, driven by Patricia Hephner, 55, Sandusky, also had her daughter, Tammy Hephner, 34, as a passenger.

All three women were transported to Firelands Hospital, where they were treated and released.
