Three sections of Maverick's track were removed Thursday morning in preparation for the arrival of the new track sections.
Maverick is Cedar Point's new $21 million roller coaster.
The new track sections are currently being redesigned and fabricated at the manufacturing plant in Europe, according to a press release. No other sections of the ride will be modified.
Maverick was scheduled to open on May 12, the seasonal park's reopening, but was delayed until early June for modifications to the coaster's steel track.
