Six locations later, John Hancock Financial Network is finally at home.
After nine years at its previous location on Cleveland Road, the business has moved to a newer, smaller space.
Gary Yontz, registered representative for John Hancock, said he made the move to be in a "more convenient" location.
The previous office occupied about 35,000 square feet. The new office at 310 Boalt St. takes up about 1,250 square feet.
"Everything is right at our fingertips," said administrative assistant Mary Jo Barnum.
"Plus it's new," Yontz added. "Everybody likes something new."
The team at John Hancock Financial Network helped design the new office, choosing the location for each room. The space is divided into three offices, a file room, a kitchenette and a waiting room. The business moved into the new location about four months ago, but the new building scent still permeates the air.
"Just about everyone compliments it," said Miriam Bickley, an administrative assistant.
Yontz and his associates scoured the area for a new location but chose the Boalt Street location.
Cards were sent out a month before the business relocated, informing clients of the new location. Appointment cards were also sent out with the office's new address.
The Sandusky office services more than 1,000 clients in Sandusky and across the nation.
"Once you work with somebody long enough, they want to stay with you," Yontz said.
"It keeps growing," Barnum said.
John Hancock Financial Network has been a part of the community for more than 40 years.
