The City Service Building was crowded Wednesday, despite the gloomy weather. Bidders looking for bicycles, jewelry, yard equipment or a new ride and sound system found just what they wanted, and just maybe at a price they can live with, too.
All of the items auctioned were either equipment no longer useful to the city or belongings confiscated by the police department.
The profit generated by the auction goes directly to the general fund, an account used by the city for daily operations. The amount of money made at the auction was unavailable Wednesday.
