FREMONT

Cheap gas has cost a Fremont Hy-Miler employee her job.

Andrea Whitt, 28, worked at the 801 W. State St. Hy-Miler gas station for four years before accidentally charging 33 cents instead of $3.39 for plus-grade unleaded gasoline.

Whitt said the mistake cost the gas station thousands of dollars. She said she input the wrong pump price at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, left work at 1:45 p.m., and the mistake wasn't caught until about 8:30 p.m.
