FREMONT

Lee Swartz , a 56-year-old Vietnam veteran, is part of a family that prides itself on military service. When he passes Flag Park on Court Street, he said, he wants to feel that pride in honor of all veterans, past and present.

That's why he's looking forward to Memorial Day with such glee. It's the day that his vision - supported by the Sandusky County Commissioners and other local leaders - will be unveiled.

Following the annual veterans service Memorial Day morning, a 10- to 11-ton monument will be revealed in a newly-revamped park. Festivities for the unveiling begin 9 a.m. May 28. Musical entertainment, the fly-over of an F-16 and presentation of colors will be included in the ceremony.
