VICKERY

Vickery residents are raising money for neighbor Lindsey Leber, 23, who is in a Toledo hospital after her car collided with a dump truck April 19 at Skadden Road and Ohio 4 close to the Strawberry Hill Farm Market.

Her rib cage and breastbone were crushed. Her skull was fractured. Her aorta was torn, and her spleen was ruptured. Leber died and was resuscitated twice. Though she continues to be listed in critical condition, her family said that she seems to get better with each day.

Members of the family involved with the local Townsend Blue Ribbon Boys 4-H Club along with other community members have orchestrated a rummage and bake sale 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Townsend Township Fire Station to help fund the family's vigil. Donated items for the bake or rummage sale or monetary donations may be made by calling the 4-H advisors, Vicki at 419-547-9115 or Dawn at 419-483-9313.
