Port Clinton council is back to square one.
The city council adopted an ordinance repealing its attempt to negotiate with Puller Group, one of two developers for the marina district project.
The council now finds itself back where it was in January when it told Safety Service Director Rich Babcock to negotiate with Puller Group.
In January, 318 people signed a petition to put the negotiations before a referendum, which would allow citizens to vote on it in November. The signatures were validated two weeks ago.
Because council repealed the ordinance, Port Clinton residents no longer have the option to vote on it in the November ballot.
