Call it. The Sandusky Police Department set up this new drug tip hotline with the hopes people who suspect drug activity will dial the digits.
Police Chief Kim Nuesse said the hotline and Drugtips@ci.sandusky.oh.us e-mail are ways to improve drug enforcement in Sandusky.
"This is something we are trying out to see how it works," Nuesse said. "We're trying to provide better service to the community and this is how we can be more responsive."
The hotline is not meant to be used for reporting a crime in progress. Those calls should still go to the police dispatcher through 911. The hotline should be used for ongoing drug activity or suspicions.
