Two-car accident in Gibsonburg

GIBSONBURG

A Fremont man and a Gibsonburg man were involved in a car crash Sunday afternoon.

At about 2:53 p.m. Sunday, Daniel Hall Jr., 18, Fremont, was driving northbound on Township Road 42 when he troopers say he failed to yield at a stop sign.

Hall's vehicle reportedly hit Brian Richardson, 35, Gibsonburg, who was driving eastbound on County Road 65. Both vehicles went off the side of the road and hit a fence.

Passengers in Hall's vehicle included Curtis Bushdecker, 16, Jesus Sotobaez, 20, Savannah Siebert, 15, and Angel Skates, 16. According to a report from the Fremont post of the State Highway Patrol, Bushdecker and Siebert were wearing belts, but it is unknown if the other passengers were belted.

Hall and Sotobaez were transported by medical helicopter to the University of Toledo Medical College. Bushdecker and Siebert were transported to Fremont Memorial Hospital. The remaining passenger, Skates, was transported by medical helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Hall's vehicle caught fire, but no one was trapped inside.

Richardson, who was cited for driving under the influence, escaped with minor injuries. Charges are pending for Hall.
