HURON

A 90-year-old woman was rescued by local authorities after she was discovered living in unsanitary conditions.

Huron firefighters and police responded to complaints alleging the woman had been living in the home with walls covered by feces and spoiled food in the kitchen.

According to police, the woman was found to be in poor health and the home was filled with human feces, flies and spoiled food. The Erie County Health Department responded to the scene, took control of the woman's affairs and transported her to safe living conditions.

Police received two other complaints in the past three years about her unsanitary living conditions.
