I would like to suggest to the board of education to take your school levies and place them in a filing cabinet for the next 15 years.
... If you people cannot live on what you are receiving now, you have a big problem. Property owners are not going to solve your problems. We do not have that much money. We voters have to lower our standards of living every time you need a pay raise.
I suggest that you find another source of income. You can also look at it this way: The city has more rental property than individual home ownership. Our industry is leaving faster than ever. Sheriff sales are higher than ever before, and our city leaders think building expensive condos and a hockey rink is going to save us.
It is time for you to lower your standard of living. I have just enough money to pay my own bills.
There is only one reason for this levy -- a pay raise. If you do not believe me, go to the school and ask for a list of the salaries.
