DANBURY TWP.

Danbury Local School District is in the early stages of discussing a drug-testing program for students.

A committee, appointed by the athletic council, started meeting in March and has actively discussed testing students for drugs and alcohol. The committee has not decided whether the drug testing would be limited to students participating in athletics or include all extracurricular activities.

Before any decisions are made, the committee would first have to report to the Danbury Board of Education. Then the board would make a recommendation and hold meetings with parents and students.
